Before and After Photos of Masonry Restoration Projects
Nothing speaks for a job well done better than a happy customer and a good review. And when we say our Vancouver masonry work is top-quality with spectacular results, we'd never want to you to just take our word for it. That's why to help us celebrate the publication of our new website and blog we want to feature some of our historical before and after restoration photos.
Each one of these before and after photos was from a job completed in Metro Vancouver by Chris your masonry contractor and owner of Bricked Masonry. We're proud of our accomplishments, and after seeing the before and after results we assume you'll understand why. So without further ado, let's show some photos!

This old brick chimney was leaning on the brink of collapse, and the mortar between the bricks had completely weathered out of existence in places which had caused some water leaks. To fix the problem, we completely rebuilt the chimney while re-using any salvageable materials we could to save our client money, and now the chimney is still standing looking beautiful to this day.

The next before and after photo is from a project we did in Burnaby BC. It features another brick chimney we restored. As you can see in the before photo much of the mortar between the bricks had weathered away. We repointed the bricks and and added new sealant to make everything watertight and beautiful again. We also capped it all off with new finely finished chimney caps. Now the chimney functions like new!

Next, we have a new marble countertop in a bathroom. As you can see, the old laminate countertop looked nice, but not quite as nice as the marble countertop we replaced it with. We love installing natural stone countertops, because the results are stunning and nothing lasts quite as long as natural stone, especially when it's installed with German precision.

This next project really shows just how important it is to restore your brick chimney. A chimney not only needs to be waterproof, it needs to be covered and protected as it's an open entrance into your home for rodents and critters. The only thing you want coming in and out of your chimney when the flute is open is fire smoke. So, to restore this old chimney in Abbotsford that was falling apart, we capped it off with new bricks and cement. Now it's waterproof and protected like new again, and we made full use of all salvageable materials to make the cost as low as we could for our client.

Next up, we have this old paver stone walkway leading up to the entrance of a residential house. In the before photo, you can see how many paver stones were poking out and in dire need of adjustment. Also, you can see in the before photo how the walkway wasn't level; it was slanting to the right which gives an unsightly appearance. We love paver stone walkways because they're a permeable surface that allow for even water shedding and irrigation. However, when the walkway is slanted all the water tends to pool up on one side. We fixed this by carefully leveling out the walkway so that the water can shed evenly again. It also looks much better, don't you think?

Last but not least we have what might look like a chimney at first glance but this is actually a brick column with a lamp on top. Before we restored this column, it was it risk of falling apart at any moment. These columns are supposed to be strong enough to stop a car from crashing into your house, and they're also supposed to look nice, as a sort of welcome sign to reveal your front patio. Well, it's safe to say that after we restored it to look new again it checks off all those boxes and more. The owner won't be needing another restoration for quite some time!

We hope you enjoyed browsing though some of our historical masonry restoration projects. These photos are just a taste of the many jobs we've had the honor of working on throughout the years in Metro Vancouver.
